Marjorie Murray Shingler

It is with great sadness that the family of Marjorie Murray Shingler announces her passing on October 6, 2018 at the age of 95. Marjorie will be forever and lovingly remembered by her children, Becky (Robert) Anderson of Mount Dora, FL; Murray (Pixie) Shingler of Cordele, GA; grandsons Patrick Shingler Pierce of Brooklyn, NY; James Roswell Shingler of Cordele, GA and a precious sister Patricia Murray Snelling of Clearwater, FL and her children and grandchildren.
Mrs. Shingler was born in Turner County, Georgia and was the daughter of the late Frank Harden and Elizabeth Daniels Murray.
Marjorie is preceded in death by her beloved husband, James (Jimmy) Simon Shingler III and a son, James Christopher (Chris) Shingler.
Marjorie and Jimmy made their first home in Vienna, GA and then moved to Cordele, GA providing a loving home for their children. They both grew up in Ashburn, GA, where their families played a major role in the founding and development of Ashburn.
Marjorie was a dear friend to many and generously gave of herself to all she knew. Her love and devotion to her family will be tremendously missed.
A family funeral service for Mrs. Shingler will be held at Perry Funeral Chapel in Ashburn on Thursday, October 18 at 11:00 AM followed by a private interment at the Rose Hill Cemetery. Those who so desire may make donations in memory of Marjorie to:
