Clark Henderson,75 of Cordele, passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 17, 2018 in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services with burial following in Midway Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 til 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Clark was born in Cordele and was the son of the late Elijah Clark Henderson, Sr. and Louise Beatrice Harris Henderson. After returning to Cordele from serving 10 years in the United States Navy he worked for Liberty National Insurance Company and eventually opened his own Cotton States Agency. Clark also was the owner and operator of Henderson’s Men’s Store and attended Morningside Baptist Church. He was a past County Commissioner and a past member of the Cordele Lion’s Club. He was a member of Cordelia Lodge #296 F&AM where he was active in helping with the children’s home and had served as a past Worshipful Master.  Clark was always busy but his passion was his family and enjoying his time and helping them in any way that he could. He was preceded in death by his wife, Delores Jacobs Henderson; and sisters, Merle Bishop, Audrey Wall, Ruth Ann Peterson and Linda Henderson. Clark is survived by his children, Allan Henderson of Hawkinsville, Denise H. Smith and her husband, Pete and Steve Henderson, all of Cordele; siblings, Charles Zack Henderson and Jeanette Bolton, both of Cordele; three grandchildren, Jesse Smith, Austin Henderson and Ashley Henderson; and a great-granddaughter, Emma Straka. The family would like to thank Pruitthealth Hospice for all their loving kindness and help during this time.
