CORDELE – Funeral services for Mickey Whitehead, 68, will be in the chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2018. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2018, beginning at 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Burial will be in Dorough Cemetery. Mr. Whitehead died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2018 at Crisp Regional Hospital.

He was born in Alamo, Ga. to Forrest Melvin Whitehead and Leila Elizabeth Adams Whitehead. He is preceded in death by his brother: Wayne M. Whitehead. He was a retired lineman foreman for Crisp County Power. He was a member of the Cordele First Baptist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, hunting and camping.

He is survived by his wife: Debbie Whitehead of Cordele; his children: Tom (Rena) Ray of Cordele, Chris (Jimeah) Ray of Adel, Ga. and Celeste (Jenni Jenkins) Whitehead Jenkins of Tallahassee; his siblings: Wendell (Luanne) Whitehead of Eastman and Charlotte Aldrich of Dublin; his grandchildren: Carley Ray, Rachel Ray, Emily (Jordan) Seago, Jonathan Ray and Ethan Ray; and his beloved furbaby: Bell.
