Funeral services for Willie Raymond Hobbs, Jr. of Cordele will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 10, 2018 at Lake Blackshear Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Sunday, December 9, 2018 from 4:00 until 6:00 at Rainey Family Funeral Services. Raymond, 89,  passed away Thursday, December 6, 2018 at Crisp Regional Hospital. He was born in Milan and was the son of the late Willie Raymond Hobbs, Sr. and Dora Bowen Hobbs.  A United States Air Force veteran, Raymond made a living for his family in many ways in his lifetime. He was the owner of a cab company, owner of Hobbs Food Center, co-owner of H&G Construction Company, manager of Hooker/Barnes Construction Company in Atlanta and an award winning sales rep for Liberty National Insurance Company. He was best known and remembered as the co-owner and operator of Arrowhead Grocery for many years. Raymond was one of the builders and a charter member of Lake Blackshear Baptist Church. He loved his church and church family and served faithfully in many capacities which included being a part of the deacon body. He was preceded in death by his “lovely bride” of 65 years, Carolyn Cason Hobbs; son and daughter, Roger Hobbs and Renee Hobbs. He is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Robin and Johnny Stubbs of Cordele and Reesa and Serge Frezier of Ellijay; grandchildren and their spouses; Tara Hobbs and her fiance, Shane Sharp, Toni and Matt Weldon, Elodie Frezier, Justin and Nikki Stubbs, Jenna Stubbs and Jill and Lauren Stubbs, and Sophie and Sissy Stubbs; great-grandchildren, Ryley Hobbs, Lawson Weldon, Ivey Walton and her husband, Eric, Holland Stubbs, Radley Stubbs, Ryan Stubbs and Whit Stubbs; and a great-great-granddaughter, Adaline Walton.
