Funeral services for Frank Wesley Prather, Sr., of Cordele, will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Union Baptist Church in Wilcox County. The committal service will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service Thursday beginning at 2:00 p.m. at the church. Frank, 70, passed away Monday, December 10, 2018 at Crisp Regional Hospital. He was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Rouse Prather and brothers, George Thomas Prather and Bobby Prather. Born in Turner County, he was the son of the late James Eskin Prather and Mildred Louise Sapp Prather. He served his country in the United States Marines in the ground combat during the Vietnam Conflict. Frank was a retired auto parts sales rep and a member of Union Baptist Church. He enjoyed wood working and restoration work but his passion in life was spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his children, a daughter and her husband, Nikki and Blake Manning and a son, Wesley and Summer Prather, all of Cordele; five grandchildren, Bailey Manning, Libby Manning, Reese Prather, Madison Prather and Ethan Prather; and siblings, Jerry Prather and his wife, Susan and Florence Noles, all of Cordele.
