Ellen P. Smith, age 82, of Pinehurst, died Friday at Fellowship Manor in Cordele.

Born in Unadilla, she was the daughter of the late Edward Peavy and Beatrice Goodroe Peavy.  She was a homemaker, a member of Pinehurst United Methodist Church and the widow of J. L. “Jady” Smith.  Ellen loved spending time with her family.  She especially cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren and her great grandchild.

She is survived by her son, Marty Smith (Pam) of Dublin; her daughter, Robin Edwards of Cordele; her sister, Carolyn Massey of Okeechobee, FL; her grandchildren, Cole Edwards, Joellyn Thompson (Aaron) and Christopher Smith (Megan); her great grandchild, Kinsley Thompson.

Graveside services will be at 3 PM Sunday at Walnut Cemetery in Unadilla.

The family will greet friends 1 – 3 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
