Funeral services for Helen McKinney Davis of Cordele will be Sunday, January 20, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service Sunday beginning at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Helen, 96,  passed away Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Fellowship Home of Cordelia Manor.  A native of Crisp County, she was the daughter of the late Lafayette McKinney, Sr. and Ola Mae Bridges McKinney. She was a loving wife and dedicated caregiver to four husbands, Sanders Walls, Charles L. Garwood, Jr., Benny Roberts and William Davis, all who predeceased her. She was also preceded in death by her two children, Sanders “Pete” Walls and Charles “Chuck” Garwood, III; and siblings, Lafayette McKinney, Jr. and Janie Kate Mathews. She was a homemaker and in earlier years an LPN. She was an active member of Cordele First United Methodist Church and found joy in helping and doing for others. She was a wonderful cook and loved to entertain her friends and family. She also understood the art of storytelling and could always bring joy to others with her interesting and humorous stories of life experiences. Her biggest passion, however, was her family and the time she spent with them. Helen is survived by a brother, Webster H McKinney of Cordele; her daughter-in-law, Kathy Garwood of Cordele; three grandchildren, Britt Garwood and his wife, Julie, of Sylvester; Megan Garwood and her fiancé, John Robert Rozar of Pineview; and Luke Garwood and his wife, Mallory, of Sylvester; and five great-grandchildren, Cody Garwood, Josie Garwood, Kendal Garwood, Emmy Wren Garwood and Lilliann Garwood, and several nieces and nephews.
