Area basketball results from Jan. 29-31

Tuesday, Jan. 29

Wilcox County High School’s basketball teams played region games at Clinch County on Tuesday night. The Lady Patriots (14-8) fell to Clinch County (16-5) on the night by a final score of 52-44. The Patriots brought their record to 19-2 overall and 13-1 in region with an 83-77 victory over Clinch County (13-7) on the night.

Wilcox plays home games against Irwin County tonight starting at 6 p.m., and then Turner County tomorrow night starting at 7 p.m. to close out the regular season.

 

Fullington Academy’s varsity basketball teams split region games at Georgia Christian School on Tuesday night. The FA Lady Trojans fell to GCS by a final score of 61-21, while the Trojans won the boys’ game later on in the night by a final score of 52-22.

Fullington’s teams are scheduled to close out the regular season with home games against Grace Christian Academy tonight starting at 6 p.m.. They will participate in the GICAA 1-A region 4 tournament hosted by Georgia Christian next week.

 

Wednesday, Jan. 30

Dooly County High School’s basketball teams split non-region games at Perry High School on Wednesday night. The Bobcats defeated Perry on the night by the slimmest of margins with a final score line of 55-54. The Lady Bobcats fell to Perry earlier on in the night by a final score of 59-47.

Final stats for the Dooly Bobcats in the win over Perry: Zeff Felton- 25 points, 13 rebounds, three assists, and three blocked shots; Jeff Felton- 14 points, seven rebounds, three assists and four steals; Shamon Zanders- seven points, two assists and two steals; Towandi King- three points and one assist; Reggie Smith- two points, two rebounds, two assists, and three steals; Eric Ivory- two points, one assist and one steal; Seve Sutton- two points, one rebound and one assist; Rashad Lucas- five rebounds, one steal and two blocks; Tre Davis- one rebound, one assist and one steal.

Dooly hosts Taylor County tonight starting at 6 p.m. to close out the regular season. Dooly’s teams will be in region 4-A tournament action next week.

 

Thursday, Jan. 31

Crisp Academy’s basketball teams both defeated Twiggs Academy on Thursday night. The Lady Wildcats knocked off Twiggs 56-46 to bring their record on the season to 4-15 overall. The Wildcats beat Twiggs 81-63 on Thursday night to run their record to 15-4 on the season going into tonight’s home games against Deerfield-Windsor starting at 6:30 p.m.
