One injured in two-car wreck on 24th Avenue

- First responders cut away the windshield of a truck in an effort to rescue a passenger in an early-afternoon wreck at the intersection of 3rd Street and 24th Avenue on Friday.
Officers with the Cordele Police Department along with first responders from the Cordele Fire Department and Crisp County EMS responded to a two-vehicle wreck at the intersection of 3rd Street and 24th Avenue on Friday at around 1 p.m.
At least one passenger of a small silver SUV was transported to Crisp Regional Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Another passenger was entrapped in a blue pickup truck, which required first responders to cut away the windshield in order to free him.
As of 2:08 p.m., the accident had not been cleared and traffic remains blocked on both roadways near the wreck.
