A service to remember the life he lived will be held for Charles Edward Jacobs of Vienna  at 3 p.m. March 5, 2019 at the Vienna Church of God. The family will receive friends prior to the services Tuesday beginning at 2:00 p.m. at the church.

Charles, 70, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2019 at his residence. Born in Cordele, he was the son of Flora Mann Jacobs and the late David Jacobs. He was also preceded in death by a son, Michael David Jacobs. A United States Marine Corps veteran, Charles served during the Vietnam Conflict. He was employed for many years as a salesman for Hurt Motor Company. He was an active member of Vienna Church of God and a past member of Cordele Lions Club. His biggest passion though was his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed attending and being a part of all of the many activities that they were involved in.

Charles is survived by his wife of 48 years, Betty Starley Jacobs of Vienna; his mother, Flora Jacobs of Vienna; a daughter and her husband, Kay and Colby Parker of Vienna; eight grandchildren, Matthew Fountain, Nick Jacobs, Adrain Jacobs, Macy Hogg, Eli Hogg, Regina Hord and her husband, Jeff, Monica Cobb and C.J. Cobb and his wife, Abby; three great-grandchildren, Jeffrey Hord, Jacob Hord and Nolan Cobb; two brothers and their wives, Harold and Marilyn Jacobs of Americus and Howard and Linda Jacobs of Vienna; two sisters, Brenda Jacobs and Sandra J. Ellenburg and her husband, Ken, all of Vienna; and several nieces and nephews.
