CORDELE –Memorial services for Aubrey Alford were held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at Pinecrest Baptist Church. Burial followed Sunnyside Cemetery. Rev. Don Howell officiated the service. Mr. Alford’s grandson, Matt Alford, did a eulogy. His granddaughters, Katie Walker, Caroline Daniel and Abby Daniel read from scripture.

Lee Hauesler, pianist, played “In The Garden”. Lee accompanied Kenny Peters as he led the congregation in singing “Standing on the Promises”. Lee also accompanied Cindy Edalgo as she sang “How Great Thou Art.

Mr. Aubrey passed away Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Crisp Regional Hospital. He was a native of Marion, S.C. Mr. Alford was the son of the late Eugene Alford and the late Clara Smith Alford. He is preceded in death by his wives Eunice Stokes Alford and Ouida Mobley Alford.

Mr. Aubrey was a member of Pinecrest Baptist Church where he served as the chairman of the board of deacons and superintendent of Sunday Schools. He was a member of the Cordele Lions Club where he was Lion of the Year numerous times. Mr. Alford was a member of the Kiwanis Club, Chamber of Commerce and served on the Crisp County Hospital Board. He was also active on the Meals on Wheels program. He loved his family and was an avid golfer.

He is survived by his son: Randy (Mary Jean) Alford of Albany, Ga. a daughter: Becky A. Daniel (Monica Barber) of Port St. Joe, Fl., step-children: Dr. Thomas B. (Sue) Mobley III of Wilmington, NC., Cherie Mobley (Bill) Prescott of Winder, Ga., and Becky Mobley (Tim) Baker of Maumee, OH., a brother: Jerry Alford of Charleston SC., Grandchildren: Matt Alford, Kristen Alford Courson, Laura Alford Medlin, Caroline Elizabeth Daniel, Katie Daniel Walker and Abby Daniel, great-grandchildren: Addie Alford, Aubrey Alford, Luke Courson, Grant Courson, Bryson Medlin and Molly Medlin.
