Carolyn Roberts, 73 of Cordele, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2019 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Baisel Roberts. She was born in Mobile, AL and was the daughter of the late Tuskin Nelson and Jewel Inez Mims Nelson. Carolyn was a bus driver (RET) for the Sumter County School System and a member of the Baptist Faith.   Funeral services will be held Monday at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services. Burial will follow in Andersonville National Cemetery in Andersonville. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Carolyn is survived by her children and their spouses, Steve Hale and Diann Albritton of Americus, Dianne Hale and Eugene Gilliam of Cordele and Cynthia and Jamie Centerfitt of Andersonville; a brother and sister, Marvin Earl Nelson of Prattville, AL and Mary Elizabeth Shockley of Americus; ten grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  Arrangements are by Rainey Family Funeral Services.
