A memorial service for Steven Theodore Fultz of Cordele was held at 5 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2019 in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services with Rev. Bobby Carpenter officiating. The service was opened to those in attendance to share their memories. Charlotte Carpenter, soloist, sang “Amazing Grace, My Chains Are Gone” and “Over On The Other Side.”  Burial followed in New Bethel Cemetery in Pitts.

Steve, 70, passed away Friday, May 10, 2019 at Crisp Regional Hospital.  He was born in Dooly County to the late Benjamin Ernest Fultz and Susie Mildred Simmons Fultz. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Ernest Fultz, Julius Fultz and Wayne Fultz  A United States Army veteran, he completed tours of duty in Germany and Korea. Steve was a school bus driver (RET) with the Crisp County School System and an active member of Smyrna Baptist Church. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed fishing. Most of all, he loved and treasured his family and the time he spent with them.

Steve is survived by his daughter, Susie Little of Hawkinsville; the mother of his daughter, Sookyie Fultz of Hawkinsville; two sisters, Faye Woodruff and her husband, Larry of Atlanta and Merle Collins of Charlotte, NC; two sisters-in-law, Paula Faye Owens of Cordele and Arlene Fultz of Dublin; several nieces and nephews; and his special fur baby and best buddy, Banjo.
