No one was injured when a tractor-trailer hauling paper caught fire near mile marker 97 on I-75 northbound before dawn Wednesday morning.

First responders with Crisp County Fire and Rescue received a call for a vehicle fire at 5:59 a.m. and were on the scene at 6:04 a.m. The driver reportedly dropped his trailer and was able drive his tractor away from the fire, which mitigated potential danger to the driver and others traveling on I-75.

County firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze without incident, but the fire left a lot of debris that is still being cleared as of 1:50 this afternoon. The clean-up efforts have the far right-hand lane of I-75 blocked to traffic as work continues.
