Bobby Thomas Holliday, Sr., age 84 of Rochelle, passed away Friday, July 5, 2019 in the Houston Medical Center. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 8, 2019 in the Morningside Cemetery with full Military Rites. Reverend Richard Compton and Reverend Danny Allen will officiate.

Mr. Holliday was born on September 24, 1934 in Rochelle. He was son of the late Thomas Holliday and Lois Cook Holliday. He was a retired Loan Officer with the United States Department of Agriculture and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Rochelle.   He served his country with honor in the United States Marine Corps from 1955-1959 where he received the Good Conduct Medal, Expert Rifleman and Pistol Badge, Certificate in the One Billion Club in Support of Vietnam Bomber and Fighter Combat Operations and Certificate from the Pentagon for helping win the cold war. He also served with honor in the United States Air Force from 1959-1975 where he received the Air Force Commendation Medal, Outstanding Unit Award, Good Conduct Award, and Small Arms Expert. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Joy Paulk.

Survivors include: wife-Wanda Orr Holliday of Rochelle, son-Bobby Thomas (Julie Anne) Holliday, Jr. of Rochelle, daughter-Tanya LaJoy (Mike) Copeland of Rochelle, brother-Cook Holliday of Monroe, sister-Margaret Pearce of Rochelle, 5-grandchildren-Jennifer Holliday, Chelsey (Dustin) Broadaway, Hannah (Chris) Bates, Chanley Copeland, Abby Holliday and 2-great-grandchildren-Brennen Thomas Holliday and Henley Anne Bates.

The family will receive flowers or donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, the First Baptist Church of Rochelle or Gideons International.
