Myra Middlebrooks Odom, 97 of Cordele, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2019 at Fellowship Home of Cordelia Manor. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 14, 2019 in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services with the burial following in Warwick Methodist Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service Saturday beginning at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Born in Warwick, Myra was the daughter of the late Joe Crawford Middlebrooks and Eva Lou Hall Middlebrooks. She was also preceded in death by her, husband James Rogers Odom; a grandson, Casey Randolph Kohn; and siblings, Hugh Hall Middlebrooks, Melba Middlebrooks Moore and Grace Middlebrooks Jones. Myra was a homemaker and an active member of Cordele First United Methodist Church, where she was also a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class, the Senior Adult Choir and the Ladies Sharing Group. Myra’s words were, “The church meant everything to me, from 11 years of age when I walked down the aisle at Warwick Methodist.” For 20 years she taught Sunday School at Cordele First United Methodist Church and was very involved with the United Methodist Women, another important part of her church life.

Myra is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Patricia and Randy Kohn of Beaufort, S.C., and Debi and Rock Hunt of Cumming; four grandchildren and their spouses, Courtney and Canada Smith, Rocky and Melanie Hunt, Holly and Carl Kendrix and Harrison Hunt; eight great-grandchildren, Sydney Smith, Walker Smith, Creed Smith, Tanner Kendrix, Hudson Kendrix, Mason Kendrix, Hattie Hunt and Rocko Hunt; and a brother Joe Frank Middlebrooks. Memorials to Reflections Hospice of Crisp Regional, 202 East 4th Avenue, Cordele, Ga. 31015 would please the family. Arrangements are by Rainey Family Funeral Services.
