WARWICK — Sara J. Bass, 98, of Warwick died early Friday morning, March 20, 2020, at her residence. Family only graveside services will be at 3 p.m., Sunday, March 22, 2020, Warwick United Methodist Church Cemetery. There will be no visitation.

Mrs. Bass was born in Swansea, S.C. to Alex Price Jackson and Lois King Jackson. She is the widow of Carson Cleveland Bass. She is preceded in death by a son, Joe Bass, a grandson, Sean McCarthy and a great-granddaughter, Lydia Bass.

Mrs. Bass was the oldest member of Warwick United Methodist Church and was involved for a number of years in several positions with the Americus District and the South Georgia Conference. She served as a Certified Lay Pastor and was Warwick UMC organist and the pianist for 50 years. A graduate from Andrew College, she taught in the Warwick Elementary School.

She is survived by her sons: Jack Bass and his wife Elsie and James Bass all of Warwick; her daughters: Catherine McCarthy and her husband Jeff of Indian Harbour Beach, Fla. and Carolyn Mitchell and her husband Tom of Flower Mound, Tex.; her grandchildren: Jack Bass, Jr., Joe Bass, Jan Williams, Kelly Harrison, Alex Mitchell, and Courtney Mitchell; and six great-grandchildren.
