Troop 270 was one of five Troops that performed various service activities during the Frontier Heritage Days (FHD) event at Camp Osborn on January 12-14.

FHD was held at the Parks at Chehaw for over 30 years.  2024 was its first time at Camp Osborn.  Sixteen living history vendors demonstrated a variety of skills from the 1840s.  Over1300 guests attended the three day event, including about 1000 on Saturday.

The Scouts and Scouters from Troops 270, 100, 21, 13, and 3 staffed the entry gate, directed guest parking, worked concessions and recruiting tables and kept restrooms clean.  When FHD came to an end, the guys from Troop 270 helped two of the historical vendors break down their displays and load them into their vehicles.

As an added bonus (if you could call it that) the temperature on Sunday morning dropped below freezing, allowing the local contingent to earn a patch as members of the Polar Bear Club.

Members of Troop 270 who attended FHD were Landon Atkins, Simon Baker, Wesley Fletcher, Jacob Frost, Cody Ngo, and Jense n Wade.  They were aided by adult Scouters John Frost, Brady Atkins, Gene Baker, Britt Brinson, Terry Fennell, Jody Fletcher, and David Wade.  Webelos Scout Jake Atkins also helped.
