The City of Cordele was a recipient of one of 25 T-Mobile Hometown Grants. This $50,000 grant will be used towards completing the Gillespie Seldon School which will be the new home of the Culture Arts Center located on 15th Ave. West. The CAC is a hub for many community services such as; after school programs and cultural arts festivals. The check was presented to the city by T-Mobile Rep. Middle Georgia Market Manager, Scott Campbell.

Many community members came to support this event including City and County Commissioners, Cordele Police Chief, Cordele Deputy Fire Chief, numerous City employees, Downtown Development, and many others. There were many speakers who associate a part of their life with the area, as many grew up in this area of Cordele, and used these buildings. This is a great opportunity for the City of Cordele and the west side for growth.
