James Williams Named SGTC Crisp County Center Student of Excellence

South Georgia Technical College recently honored James Williams of Fort Valley as the college’s Crisp County Center Student of Excellence for the spring 2024 semester. Williams, an Electrical Systems Technology student, was nominated by his instructor, Jeff Sheppard.

As the overall winner, Williams received a $50 check, an engraved personal plaque, a congratulatory letter from SGTC President Dr. John Watford and a “Student of Excellence” t-shirt.  His name was also engraved on a perpetual plaque that is displayed in the front lobby of the Crisp County Center.

Williams, who currently works in the interior electrical maintenance department at Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robins, was excited to earn the recognition, saying “Praise God!  I am happy to win the student of excellence award and appreciate Mr. Sheppard nominating me.”

Other students nominated for the honor were: Emerson Lundy of Vienna, Accounting Technology, nominated by Tammy Hamilton; Eric Lundy of Vienna, Air Conditioning Technology, nominated by Mike Enfinger; Javon Dexter of Vienna, Business Technology, nominated by Teresa Jolly; Jacori Rawls of Hawkinsville, Criminal Justice, nominated by Wanda Bishop; Danielle Morgan of Cordele, Culinary Arts, nominated by Johnny Davis; Princess King of Ashburn, Early Childhood Care and Education, nominated by Cambrette Hudson; Gayla Walker of Cordele, Medical Assisting, nominated by Carol Cowan; Stephen Holloway of Cordele, Networking Specialist, nominated by Wendy Prince; Ja’Carla Polite of Albany, Practical Nursing, nominated by Brandy Patrick; and Aaron Sandwich of Americus, Welding and Joining Technology, nominated by Brad Aldridge.
