Cordele Boy Scout Troop 270 held its Spring quarter Court of Honor on Monday evening, April 29, 2024, in the sanctuary of the Cordele First United Methodist Church. Senior Patrol Leader Simon Baker opened the ceremony by leading the Troop and their guests in the Pledge of Allegiance. After asking the guests to be seated, he led the Scouts in the Scout Oath and Law, as well as the Outdoor Code. With Scoutmaster John Frost out of town on business, Assistant Scoutmaster Britt Brinson assumed the duties of the Master of Ceremonies.
Before commencing the awards portion of the ceremony, ASM Brinson and Charter Organization Representative David Wade reminded those in attendance about upcoming activities for the Troop:
• 4/29-5/20 – Boston Butt Sale
• 5/20 – Physicals for Summer Camp
• 5/23-24 – Butt Kickin’ Butt Cookin’
• 5/24 – Boston Butt Distribution
• 5/25 – Andersonville Flag Placement
• 5/27 – Troop 270 Memorial Day Flag Retirement Ceremony

Two of the Scouts were awarded new ranks. Several Scouts earned merit badges.
