The Historic Cordele Boy Scout Hut, which was built in 1940, has finally gotten a new paint job.
This is the culmination of a project that has lasted more than three years. All of the work was performed by volunteers. Previously, the termite damaged rear seal and exterior siding were replaced, rafters were reinforced, and interior walls were covered with plywood.
Cordele Boy Scout Troop 270 would like to thank the City of Cordele and Griffin Lumber Company for their support and assistance with this project, as well as numerous individuals who have given of their time and talents.
The finishing touches to the exterior of the Hut were provided by Troop Committee Chair Terry Fennell, his son Tyler Fennell, and Assistant Scoutmaster Britt Brinson. Sprayers were provided by Brinson and Scoutmaster John Frost.
