A memorial service for James Ronald “Ronnie” Beasley will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2024 in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services with Rev. Royce Freeman officiating. The family will meet with friends following the service. He passed away Friday, July 28, 2024 at Cordele Health and Rehab at the age of 72. Born in Americus, he was the son of the late John Henry Beasley and Dorothy Elizabeth Thompson Beasley. Ronnie was a hard working handyman and a jack of all trades. He was able to work on and fix just about anything. He was an avid country music fan, with Hank Williams Jr. being his favorite. He also loved woodworking. Ronnie is survived by his wife of 36 years, Mary Nutt Beasley of Cordele; four children, Sheila (Kevin) Parker, Teresa Aspinwall and Sandra Aspinwall, all of Cordele and Jamie Beasley of Sparta; two brothers, Henry Lloyd Beasley (Stephanie Satterfield) of Cordele and Wayne Alex Beasley of Alabama; four sisters, Victoria Lynne Greene (Lynne Turner) of Covington, Debra Diane Hill (Danny Craft) of Douglas, Gina Marie Beckwith (Charles Scarbary) of Fitzgerald and Bobbie Barfield (Barney Barfield) of Cordele; six grandchildren, Tiffany Parker, Brison Parker (Brianna Greene), Chase Lancaster, Cole Lancaster, Tate Spires and John Beasley; and four great-grandchildren.
