The Crisp County High School Lady Cougar softball team finished out their regular season schedule with a 2-1 defeat at Bainbridge High School on Thursday afternoon.

CCHS got on the scoreboard first in the contest when Kirin Webb scored on an RBI single by Sara Ruth Raines.

Bainbridge pitcher Lexie Delbrey held the Lady Cougars scoreless for the remainder of the contest, and the hosts scored two runs during the bottom of the second to come away with the one-run victory.

Olivia Bridges got the start in the pitcher’s circle for Crisp and worked six innings, while allowing two runs (one earned) on seven hits. She also recorded a pair of strikeouts.

The RBI hit by Raines was the only base knock of the game for the Lady Cougars. Webb finished the contest with a pair of walks to go with the run, while Riley Blampied reached base once after being hit by a pitch, and she also stole a base.

The defeat to Bainbridge left CCHS with a final regular season record of 15-7.

The Lady Cougars will open up the class AAA state playoffs at home with a best-of-three series against Windsor Forest. Games one and two of the series will be played as a doubleheader at the CCHS softball field starting at 4 p.m. The third game of the series is scheduled to be played at 5 p.m. on Thursday if the teams split Wednesday’s contests.
