Audry “Annette” Tison Rooks

Audry “Annette” Tison Rooks passed away after a lengthy illness on Sunday, October 14, at YourLife of Tallahassee Memory Care.

 A native of Cordele, Ga., Annette was born on October 9, 1932. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles H. Rooks, parents, John and Leila Belle Tison, her brother, Leon Tison, Sr., and her nephew, Leon Tison, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Bass Bostwick of Tallahassee, stepson, Richard Lee Wood (Sheryl) of Tallahassee, and niece, Linda Tison Wright, of Kathleen, Ga., as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a great niece and nephew.

 Annette is a long-time resident of Tallahassee, where she retired from Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. She graduated from East Crisp High School in Cordele, Ga., at the age of 16 and moved to Jacksonville, Fla, to attend Massey Business School. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, painting, playing the piano, listening to all genres of music, and collecting fine china, dolls, tea cups, and bells.

 The family will receive visitors at Bevis Funeral Home, 200 John Knox Road in Tallahassee at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 19. The service will follow at 2:00 p.m, with burial at Tallahassee Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Rondyll Reddish, Clint Dugger, Craig Wood, Marty Pickron, Dave Sinnott, and Danny Miller.

 In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Project of Tallahassee,  301 E. Tharpe Street, Tallahassee, Florida 32303.
