Cordele Commissioners handle brief agenda

CORDELE — City Commissioners here handled a brief agenda with several action items on that agenda for the board’s approval.
In his action report to the board, City Administrator Edward Beach submitted those items to the board.
The first was the approval of a resolution for the adoption of the Fiscal Year Budget 2016: The budget’s date and availability and the date for the public hearing on March 1 were advertised. Board members approved the motion unanimously.
Beach also submitted for the board’s approval the statewide 2016 Mutual Aid and Assistance agreement. The agreement as furnished by the Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA) allows governments to receive mutual aid and reimbursement of costs associated with a declared disaster event.
The board also approved an application for a vehicle for hire  charter service for Sum Serious Limousine LLC. The applicants name is Alonzo Thomas III.
Also on the agenda and approved by the board were;
• The 2012-2017 SPLOST Expenditure Bid aor Cordele Inland Port Rail Yard.
• Letter of agreement for River Valley Regional Commission in preparation of the 2016 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). The city agreed to pay $500 for costs associated with the application.
Commissioners also reviewed reports from various departments.
