“For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” Matthew 18:20 KJV.

CORDELE — There is still time and space available to participate in the Bible Reading Marathon to be held on the steps of the Crisp County Courthouse next week.
The event will begin with the first verse of Genesis on Monday, April 4 at 9 a.m. and end with the last verse of Revelation on Thursday, April 7 at 1 p.m.
Danny Kimbrel has served as coordinator the event, which will be a full reading of the King James during that time.
“This is something that God has placed in our hearts to do in his name,” said Kimbrel. “It is a God thing, open to all denominations and we hope everyone will be in prayerfully consider participating.”
Kimbrel says it will take about 160 volunteers to read through the Bible with each person reading at least 15 minutes. Citizens are also encouraged to come early and pray before reading or stay and pray after reading. Kimbrel said those that do not wish to read are encouraged to get a prayer group together.
“You must have prayer when you have the reading of the Word,” said Kimbrel. “Prayer warriors will be praying for our nation, our state, our community, our men and women of service or what God puts in their heart. For those who will be reading a Bible and podium will be furnished so the next reader can pick up where the previous stops. There will be no microphones, no big crowds, just the reader sharing the word of God.”
Kimbrel says the purpose of the event is to win lost souls to Jesus Christ and to glorify God and share His word with the people of the community. He hopes the event will bring together the people of the community as one.
“WE are ALL God’s children,” said Kimbrel. “As the Lord says in 2 Chronicles 7:14 ‘If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.’ That is what we need. We need for Him to heal our land. There is so much sin and corruption in the world and we are in need of revival.”
Kimbrel says that anyone interested in participating can contact him at (229)947-1212.
