CORDELE — Thursday morning the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office received complaints of automobiles being entered into in the 1600 block of Hwy 257 during Wednesday night. Multiple items, including some firearms were reported stolen.
Later Thursday two arrests were made in the case but one suspect remains at large.
According to reports from the CCSO two of the weapons stolen have been recovered. Sheriff Billy Hancock wants citizens to exercise caution when purchasing items, especially weapons, from individuals. Some of the items have not been recovered.
“If you have purchased a weapon at a great price in the last couple of days you may want to check with us in reference to the status of that weapon,” said Hancock. “It could prevent an individual from being charged with receiving stolen property.”
Hancock says the investigation is ongoing and that anyone with information about these crimes should contact the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office at (229) 276-2600.
