Fullington Academy hosts commencement
By JOE JOE WRIGHT
PINEHURST — In a packed out gymnasium on Friday night Fullington Academy said good-bye to 29 of their sons and daughters.
The families of all the seniors and hundreds more of the Fullington faithful listened to the speeches of Salutatorian Meredith McGlamory and Valedictorian Helley Patel Sarah-Averill Brannen gave the Invocation.
McGlamory spoke about how Fullington Academy is a family and that she was happy to be apart of the family. McGlamory quoted Colossians 3:23 which says “ whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.” McGlamory finished with “ I cannot wait to see where life takes you! I encourage you to set new goals and work hard to achieve them.
Next up was Valedictorian Helley Patel. After thanking the parents and staff Patel went into detail speaking on each
and everyone of her classmates specific memories and or mannerism. In the end she thanked everyone and left them all with these parting words. “ I have learned not to measure my time in school periods, nine week quarters, and semesters but rather in the friendships and the special times that we have shared together as an FA-family. Diplomas were given to graduates Headmaster Ken Shealy. He then he presented the Class of 2016 to the crowd and Andrew Mitcham gave the benediction.
