CORDELE — The Cordele-Crisp Chamber of Commerce Leadership Crisp 2016-17 Planning Committee announced today that they are taking applications for the 2016-17 class. Monica Simmons, president of the chamber stated that “The overall objective of this program is to help develop and maintain a solid community leadership base for Crisp County.” Specific objectives of the program include developing your basic leadership skills, working with other leaders, undertaking local government functions and identifying major issues and concerns important to Crisp County. Training Program! This unique program is designed to stimulate continued participation in leadership roles in Crisp County. To register for the class or to nominate someone, call or email the chamber for the information sheet, nomination form and registration form. The class is open to residents of Crisp County and to anyone who is employed within the county. The participation fee is $250, however, some partial scholarships will be available. Deadline to register is July 8th.

The first session will be a one-day retreat, which will be held on Aug. 27th at the Lake Blackshear Resort & Golf Club. Subsequent meetings will be held the third Thursday of each month September thru April and will be held in a variety of locations in the county.

A field trip is planned for February 2016 in conjunction with the Atlanta Legislative Fish Fry.

The Leadership Crisp Planning Committee is made up of students of previous years Leadership Crisp classes and community leaders.
