Watermelon decorators awarded for creativity

CORDELE — Participants in the annual Watermelon Decorating Contest really showed their creative abilities with this year’s designs.
The event is sponsored each year by Keep Crisp Beautiful. Participants drop their entries off at Flint River Pottery. Judge for the event was Miriam Edwards of the Crisp Area Arts Alliance.
The winners for the event are as follows.
Jannah Brown — Most Recycled items ages 14-17.
Joy Brown — Most recycled Adult.
Braylee Duckworth — Most Creative ages 10-13.
Laura Stephens — Most Creative Adult.
Winners of the competition were presented with a prize of $25 each.
