The announcement was made onboard the historic USS Yorktown at Patriots Point in South Carolina this morning among Hope for the Warriors leadership, supporters and Harveys associates.

Hope For The Warriors is a national nonprofit dedicated to restoring a sense of self, family and hope for veterans, service members and military families.

Last year for Independence Day, Southeastern Grocers raised more than $3 million for veterans and the grocer has committed to support veterans again this year.

In addition, the grocer has also launched a Wall of Honor in each store, allowing customers to make a donation and pay tribute to their loved ones.

“Our company is honored to work with a nonprofit organization like Hope for the Warriors that recognizes our veterans and the sacrifices they have made for our country and our freedom,” said Jeff Hulett, store manager of the Cordele Harveys. “As we celebrate Independence Day, it is important that we recognize those who have sacrificed so much for all of us. It is just as important to remember the sacrifices made by the families and loved ones of our service members and veterans. They all deserve our appreciation and support.”

Customers in Cordele can also donate to the cause at Harveys Supermarket online and at any store register across approximately 58 grocery stores now –July 10, 2016.

In honor of the day we celebrate our independence stop by our local Harveys and show your support for our military and veterans. Remember we are the Land of the Free because we are the HOME OF THE BRAVE.
