CORDELE — An early morning accident involving a tractor trailer resulted in the death of the driver Friday.

At approximately 2:24 a.m. Georgia State Patrol Post 30, Crisp County Sheriff’s Office, and Crisp County EMS responded to mile marker 103 in regards to a one-vehicle accident.

According to reports from the GSP the driver of the truck 47-year old Eugene Gleaton of Riverdale, Georgia was traveling in the southbound lanes of I-75. For reasons unknown Gleaton veered out of the lane of traffic and rolled over blocking all three lanes of southbound traffic. It took approximately 2 1/2 hours to clear the roadway. Gleaton was pronounced dead at the scene. Circumstances surrounding the cause of the wreck are under investigation by the GSP.
