Area students preparing to head Back to School

CRISP/DOOLY/WILCOX — It’s about that time again….. Students in the tri-county area will be trading in their flip flops and beach towels for back packs and pencils and head back into the classroom for another year of learning.

Parents in Crisp, Dooly and Wilcox will have an opportunity to take their students to their respective schools for open house to meet teachers and obtain useful information they will need to get their kids started off on the right track.

In Crisp County, Open House will be held on Wednesday, August 3 from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. for middle school and high school students. Those who will be attending Crisp County Pre-K, Primary School, or Elementary School can attend Open House from 4-6 p.m. on Thursday, August 4. Students in Crisp County will head back to class on Friday, August 5.

Crisp Academy will host Open House for all grades on Wednesday, August 3 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. The first day of school for CA students will be Thursday, August 4.

In Dooly County will hold Open House for all grades on Thursday, July 28. Elementary School will be held from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. Middle School will be held from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. Open House for Dooly County High School 9th grade will be held from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. and grades 10 through 12 will be held from 6 p.m until 7 p.m. Dooly County students will go back to school on Friday, July 29. Community leaders, parents and citizens are invited to participate in the 2016-2017 Day One Community Challenge to welcome students back to school. The event will be held from 7:30 a.m. until 8 a.m. on the first day of school in the Dooly County High School Media Center. Continental breakfast will be served. Fullington Academy will host Open House for all grades on Friday, August 5 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. The first day of classes will be Monday, August 8. The first day of school will be a half-day for students.

Wilcox County School will hold a system-wide Open House, for all grade levels, on Wednesday, August 3 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Following the Open House at 7 p.m. a Prayer Walk will be held at the high school gymnasium. Everyone is invited to attend this event to pray for students in the community as they head back to class. The first Day of school for Wilcox County will be Friday, August 5.

Parents looking for back-to-school bargains remember Georgia’s Tax Free weekend will be held July 30 and 31.
