Crisp County Sheriff’s Office Press Release

On 06-01-2017 around 9:00 PM deputies responded to a call on Culpepper Road south of Cordele to a gunshot victim. Upon arrival they located an 11 year old juvenile suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. Paramedics arrived and transported the youth to Crisp Regional Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery. The Juvenile was later transported to a Macon Hospital where he succumbed to his injury. The case remains under investigation but at this time all indications are it was a self inflicted accidental shooting. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family in this tragic loss of a young life.
