PEREZ REUNITED WITH FAMILY

CORDELE – Rosaura Perez, the 13 year old that left her home during the night or early morning hours of Monday, July 10, 2017 from North Hwy 41 in Crisp County has been reunited with her family today. Crisp County Investigators and agents with Georgia Bureau of Investigation worked diligently, following leads gathered throughout the day Monday. Investigators gathered enough intelligence to notify an entity within the Department of Homeland Security and the Gwinnett County Drug Task Force in hopes of locating the child and suspect at an apartment complex in Gwinnett County. At approximately, 4:40 pm, Crisp County Investigators were notified that the suspect was in custody and that the child was located and was being taken in to protective custody. Twenty-one year old Sanchez Romero was arrested at the scene and is charged in Gwinnett County with, giving false information to law enforcement officers, aggravated sexual battery, statutory rape and child molestation. He is being held in the Gwinnett county jail without bond and pending charges in Crisp County. Immigration has also placed a detainer on Romero. The investigation in Crisp County is ongoing.
