Mobile home goes up in flames

CORDELE – A vacant mobile home located at 1800 South on Hwy 90 caught on fire on Saturday night, October 28. The Crisp County Fire Department arrived at the scene at 8:43 p.m. The mobile home was completely engulfed in flames and the roof had already caved by the time the Fire Department got there. Four fire engines worked to put out the flames until just after 2 a.m. According to the County Fire Department, the cause of the fire is currently undetermined. The home was unsecured and no one was living there at the time of the fire. The fire was confined to the home and did not spread. The estimated loss in property value is about $30,000.
