Update: I-75 fatality in wreck

DOOLY COUNTY – On Sunday, February 18 at approximately 5 p.m., a woman died in a wreck on I-75. The woman was 44-year-old Tallahassee, Fla. native, Tammy Sherman. Sherman was traveling in her car with a passenger who was an eight-year-old girl, southbound on I-75 when her car drifted off the roadway about .7 miles south of the Shiloh Rd. overpass. Sherman was traveling in the left lane when the vehicle traveled off the east edge of the roadway and went approximately 88 feet before striking a guardrail. The vehicle began overturning from there and traveled about 103 feet before coming to a rest on the left side. The eight-year-old passenger survived the wreck and was taken to Crisp Regional Hospital. The relations between the eight-year-old and Sherman are currently unknown. The cause of the wreck is also currently unknown and the case is still under investigation.
