Cordele Police Department Reports June 15 through June 18

06.15.18
-At approximately 7:33 a.m., Cordele Police responded to a call on E 26th Ave. in reference to an entering auto. Upon arrival, police spoke with the victim who advised they noticed driver and passenger doors open when they came out of their home at around 7 a.m. The victim’s shotgun and a set of keys were missing.
The case remains active pending further investigation.
-At approximately 7:45 p.m., Cordele Police responded to a call of entering auto at a residence on E 25th Ave.
-At approximately 8 p.m., Cordele Police responded to a call of entering auto at a residence on E 26th Ave.
06.16.18
-At approximately 3:36 p.m., Cordele Police responded to a call at Old Hatley at Aberdeen Circle in reference to an intoxicated person. While in route, Central advised that Georgia State Patrol was out with a male subject possibly laying in the roadway. The male subject was 56-year-old Kerry Mallard. Mallard was charged with Public Drunkenness and transported to the Crisp County Jail.
-At approximately 4:49 p.m., Cordele Police responded to a call on E 26th Ave. in reference to an entering auto. Upon arrival, police made contact with the victim who stated someone had been inside his Honda Pilot and ransacked the vehicle. The victim did not see anything taken from the vehicle at the time. Police did not notice any signs of forced entry or damage. The victim had left the vehicle doors unlocked.
This case was forwarded to investigation.
-At approximately 5:44 p.m., Cordele Police responded to a call at Wal-Mart located at 1215 E 16th Ave. in reference to theft by shoplifting. Police made contact with Marcus Yawn upon arrival. Yawn stated he observed a white female select and conceal items and try to leave the store without paying for those items. Allyson Fussell was arrested and placed in Crisp County Jail on the charge of Theft by Shoplifting.
-Cordele Police responded to a residence on 25th Ave. in reference to an entering auto. Police arrived and made contact with the victim who stated someone entered his vehicle and took his handgun. The victim stated he last saw the handgun on 06.15.18 at approximately 7:45 p.m. when he parked his 2010 Dodge Ram pickup truck at his residence. The victim also advised the weapon was the only thing he saw missing from the vehicle.
Police advised the victim that if he found any information on the weapon to come to Cordele Police Department so the information could be added to the case.
The case was forwarded to investigation.
-At approximately 8:08 p.m., Cordele Police arrested 25-year-old female Jasmine Hardeman for Probation Violation, Driving While License Suspended or Revoked, and Child or Youth Restraint Not Used Properly.
06.17.18
-At approximately 12 a.m., Cordele Police responded to Crisp Regional Hospital located at 902 N 7th St. in reference to an assault.
-At approximately 12:09 p.m., Cordele Police responded to a residence on Duvall Dr. in reference to an assault. Investigation revealed that Jalexius Smith intentionally caused visible bodily harm to the victim by pushing the victim down and assaulting them, leaving a knot on the victim’s forehead and a scratch on their lip and nose. Investigation also revealed Jalexius Smith intentionally caused physical harm to another victim when they tried to break up a fight between Smith and the first vitim. Investigation also revealed that Jalexius Smith had knowledge that two minor children were present and witnessed her commit battery against the first victim. As of the time of this report, Jalexius Smith has not been taken into custody. Warrants are requested against her for the following: Battery, Simple Battery and 3rd Degree Cruelty to Children.
-At approximately 12:47 p.m., Cordele Police responded to a residence on N 4th St. in reference to a burglary. Upon arrival, police spoke with the victim who advised they came home and saw their front door open. The victim went inside and noticed three televisions were missing and that two drawers in two rooms had been ransacked.
This case is still open pending further investigation.
-At approximately 1:04 p.m., Cordele Police responded to a call at 802 W 28th Ave. in reference to a wanted person. The case was cleared by arrest.
-At approximately 6:22 p.m., while on patrol Cordele Police observed a black in color Chevrolet Trailblazer bearing a GA tag operated by a male not wearing a seatbelt. 48-year-old Lamar Brown was arrested for Driving Without a License, Seatbelt Violation, No Proof of Insurance, and Operating a Vehicle with Suspended/Canceled/Revoked Registration. The case was closed by arrest.
-At approximately 8:20 p.m., Cordele Police responded to a residence on E 8th Ave. in reference to a disturbance. This case will remain active pending contact with the offender.
-At approximately 9:29 p.m., Cordele Police responded to the intersection of 24th Ave. at Joe Wright Dr. in reference to a hit & run. Dementria Dawson stated she was stopped on 24th Ave. Dawson stated that a blue in color Dodge pickup struck her from behind then left the area. Dawson stated a black male was driving the truck and was unable to obtain the tag number.

-At approximately 1:07 a.m., Cordele Police responded to the area of 22nd Ave. and Joe Wright Dr. in reference to shots fired. Upon arrival, police had negative contact with any shooters.
-At approximately 11:14 a.m., Cordele Police responded to Home Depot at 2011 Central Ave. in reference to a reported theft. The complainant, Paul Keller contacted police upon their arrival and stated that and employee, Akia Mathis had been taking money from the register and not turning it in to the company. Keller stated that Mathis admitted to taking $2,000 since May 2018 and he believes the total is actually in excess of $3,000. At this time Keller turned over to police a USB flash drive with security camera recordings, a written statement by Akia Mathis and a package labeled Associate Profile. At this time Akia Mathis was placed undr arrest and transported to the Cordele Police Department. The USB flash drive was received from Paul Keller and turned over to Cordele Police on Receipt for Property form.
-At approximately 1:47 p.m., Cordele Police responded to the intersection of 15th St. and 6th Ave. in reference to a Hit and Run. 20-year-old Tariq Hammonds was arrested for a Hit and Run-Failure to Stop and Render Aid, Driving While Unlicensed and Reckless Driving. The case has been cleared by arrest.
-At approximately 2:40 p.m., Cordele Police was notified by the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office of 28-year-old Justin Mason who had been located and arrested for failure to appear warrant. Mason was destined to appear in court on 06.18.18 and is where he would be served the warrant.
