Cordele Police Department Reports July 13 through July 15

Friday, July 13

At 1:20 p.m., Cordele Police responded to 1215 E 16th Ave (Wal-Mart) in reference to Theft by Shoplifting. Upon arrival, officers were advised that Kenneth Salmon, of Vienna, ring up and pay for half the items he walked out of Wal-Mart with. The case was cleared by arrest.

At 2:23 p.m., Cordele Police responded to 706 S 10th St in reference to a Civil. Upon arrival, contact was made with the complainant who stated that she wanted her sister, Kimberly Blanks, gone from the residence. The complainant also stated that Blanks had a warrant, and that she wanted Blanks gone from her residence because she had picked up a hammer at her. Officers then made contact with Blanks at 301 W 14th Ave and advised why they were there. Central confirmed the warrant out on Blanks for a Probation Violation through the Crisp County Sherriff’s Office. Blanks was arrested and transported to the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office where she was turned over to the detention officer.

At 10:26 p.m., Cordele Police responded to 711 W 17th Ave in reference to an Assault.

At 11:10 a.m., Cordele Police responded to 204 W 24th Ave in reference to Theft by Shoplifting. Upon arrival, an officer made contact the complainant who advised that Victoria Dunson, of Cordele, had stolen tow bottles of alcohol from the store the day before.

Saturday, July 14

At 9:13 p.m., while patrolling near 11th/17th Ave, an officer observed a dark Chevy Malibu with a headlight out. The traffic stop led to the apprehension of wanted person, Sierra Barner, of Cordele. The case was cleared by arrest.

Sunday, July 15

At 10:46 p.m., while on a traffic stop, an officer was nearly struck by a driver who was going eastbound on 16th Ave. The case was cleared by arrest.
