Area High School basketball results from the weekend 

Friday, December 14 

Dooly County’s varsity basketball teams hosted region opponent Manchester High School in Vienna on Friday night and the Bobcat teams both picked up wins. The Lady Bobcats picked up the win in their game by a final score of 51-35 while the Bobcats beat Manchester 57-48 on the night.

Lady Bobcats 51, Manchester 35 

Sha’Nyah Bolden led the Lady Bobcats in scoring on the night with 12 total points, and Malaysia Manning was the only other Dooly County player in double-figures with 10 points. Final point totals for other Lady Bobcat players: Ta’kerria Lee- eight points, Jasmine Clark- six, Tierra Burden- six, Kaleyia Smith- four, Antanazsha Robinson- four, and Jashuma Greene-one.

Bobcats 57, Manchester 48 

The Bobcats outscored Manchester in the first three quarters of Friday’s ball game on their way to the 57-48 region victory.

Jeff Felton led the way for Dooly with a productive night that saw him put up 16 points and 11 rebounds. Shamon Zanders was next on the list in scoring with 14 points to go along with three assists and one rebound. Zeff Felton led the team in rebounds in the game with 17 total to go with seven points, three assists, two blocks and four steals.

Other final game stats for Dooly County versus Manchester: Seve Sutton- six points, seven rebounds, and one steal, Rashad Lucas- five points, eight rebounds, and one block, Towandi King- four points, TyCorian Sheffield- two points and two rebounds, Reggie Smith- two points, two rebounds, six assists, and three steals, Bubba Almond- one point and one rebound, Tre Davis- one steal.

 

Wilcox County had region home games against Clinch County on Friday night and both Patriot teams added a win to their season records. The Lady Patriots picked up the win on the night by a score of 69-63, while the Patriots defeated Clinch later in the night 69-64.

 

Fullington Academy’s varsity basketball teams both dropped away games against Highland Christian Academy on Friday night. Highland defeated the Lady Trojans 54-25 and won the boys’ contest 72-56.

 

Saturday, December 15 

The Crisp County High School varsity teams both dropped home games against Americus-Sumter on Saturday evening. Americus won the girls’ contest 62-4 and the boys’ game 74-51. Dooly County’s teams both picked up region wins at Hawkinsville on Saturday. The Lady Bobcats knocked off Hawkinsville 64-46 while the Bobcats took the win 50-40.

Eric Ivory was the leading Bobcat scorer in the Dooly County boys’ win over Hawkinsville with 11 points. Other Bobcat final stats from the game: Rashad Lucas- 10 points, seven rebounds, and two steals, Jeff Felton- nine points, two rebounds, and two assists, Reggie Smith- eight points, four rebounds, three assists, and two steals, Shamon Zanders- seven points, four rebounds, four assists, and two steals, TyCorian Sheffield- two points, Tre Davis- two points, three rebounds, and two steals, Bubba Almond- one point and one rebound, Seve Sutton- one rebound and one assist, and Towandi King- one assist.

The Lady Bobcats had a 4-3 overall record with a 4-2 region record after this past weekend’s contests. The Bobcats were 6-1 with a 6-0 region record after the Hawkinsville win. Dooly continues region play tonight with road games at Taylor County, and Friday night they will host Macon County for more region games starting at 6 p.m.

 

Wilcox split Saturday’s road games at Dodge County with the Lady Patriots falling 77-50 and the Patriots winning their game 85-67. The Lady Patriots have a 7-3 overall record at this point in the season with a 5-1 mark in region play. The Patriots are now 10-0 overall and 6-0 in region play to this point. Both teams will be back in action on Friday afternoon in tournament games against Terrell County in a tournament hosted by Calhoun County starting at 12 p.m.
