Three Pineview residents are at Navicent Macon Medical Center being treated for severe gunshot wounds after a shooting incident at the mobile home they share on W. Commerce Street late Friday morning. The three, whose names have not yet been released by authorities, are in critical condition.

Wilcox County Sheriff Robert Rodgers said his office received a call at approximately 11 a.m. in reference to a shooting at the Commerce St. residence. When they arrived, they found a brother and sister inside bleeding from gunshot wounds. They learned a third, unrelated, resident had somehow left the scene by vehicle heading toward Taylor Regional Hospital in Hawkinsville for treatment of gunshot wounds.

Rodgers said his agency was able to coordinate with public safety officials in Pulaski County to get the third subject off the roadway and delivered by Pulaski EMS to Taylor Regional Hospital. He was later transported by helicopter to Navicent Macon Medical Center for treatment. The brother and sister were transported by helicopter directly from the scene of the shooting to Navicent.

Georgia Bureau of Investigation Region 13 Special Agent in Charge J.T. Ricketson said agents with his office are on hand at the Macon hospital in an attempt to interview any or all of the three and determine what happened. Rodgers said he requested the GBI’s assistance in the case and GBI special agents are also on scene with him and his investigators at the Pineview residence where the shooting occurred.

“Right now we’re working the crime scene and trying to understand what happened,” Rodgers said. “We don’t have an update yet on the status of the three who were shot, but they’re obviously in critical condition.”

Ricketson added that the three range in age from 33 to 35 years old. A juvenile also lives at the residence, but the child was at school when the shooting occurred, he said.
