CORDELE LIONS CLUB CHRISTMAS PARADE UPDATE for DATE CHANGE

The Cordele Christmas parade date changes to Friday, December 13 at 6 PM.  Due to the recent win of the Cougar games and playoffs, the Cordele Lions President Willie Mae Dexter says, “This parade is for the community and our community encourages our local football team and supports them.  We want everyone to be able to support both events, therefore we are changing the parade to Friday, December 13 at 6 PM.”

The parade is annually sponsored by the Cordele Lions Club.  We will begin at Cordele City Hall located at 501 North 7th Street and end at the Community Clubhouse located at 501 South 7th Street.    Line Up begins at 5:00 PM at City Hall.

A fun theme this year will be “Making Christmas Magic with Mickey & Friends”.  Entrants in the parade are encouraged to incorporate this theme into you parade entry.  All entrants will be required to fill out an application before December 2 and will be eligible for judging.

Categories for judging will be float, cars, walkers, equestrians or tractors.  All entries will be judged according to theme, visual effects and originality.  First, Second and third place awards will be given in all five categories.  Entries must notify the Chamber before the parade of the category you are interested in being judged.   Carpooling is encouraged to lineup location.  Additional parking can be found across 7th Street at the Crisp County Courthouse.

If you would like to participate in the parade, please call the Cordele-Crisp Chamber of Commerce for an entry form or email Kathy@visitcordele.com.  All entries except “Government Agencies” (Sheriff, Police Dept., Etc) must submit a fee of $20.00 with the application.  You can return the entry to:  Cordele-Crisp Chamber of Commerce, P O Box 158,  Cordele, GA 31010 or fax to 229-273-5132.  If you have already sent in your application and will not be able to participate, please give the Chamber a call at 273-1668 to get your refund.
