By press time, only Crisp County’s absentee ballots had been counted for the Georgia Primary Tuesday.
The primary, originally scheduled in March, was postponed until June 9 due to the Coronavirus pandemic that hit Georgia very hard.
In a hard fought race for the State Senate, District 13 seat, Carden Summers, the incumbent led his Republican challenger, Spud Bowen, 1,106 to 303.
Political newcomer Don Cole held a substantial lead, 1,149 to 204 over Vivian L. Childs for U.S. Representative from the second congressional district. On the Democrat side, Mary Eglar led Ruenett Melton 303 to 195.
Amber Roberts Holloway led Allen Ellenberg 1,011 to 395 for the Judge of the Probate Court and Mark Crenshaw led Bill Wilson 1,079 to 262 for Crisp County Commissioner District 2, Post 1.
