City of Cordele

The City of Cordele joins with The Cordele Fire Dept. to congratulate Jared Averill on his appointment as the new Training Officer effective March 4th. Sgt. Jared Averill began his career with CFD on November 4th, 2008. He has worked on all 3 shifts and been stationed at both Stations 1 and 2. He was promoted to Corporal in 2019 and to Sergeant in 2023. In Jared’s role as Training Officer, it carries with it an appointed Lieutenant’s position and responsibilities for the planning, coordination, direction, and reporting of all education and training programs within the fire department. He will also be tasked with administering performance tests, coordinate all recruit assessments, coordinate testing of all pump and ladder apparatus, and research new training methods and equipment so that CFD can best serve the community.
