CORDELE — This weekend IndigoLife Communications, INC. will sponsor the 2nd Annual Women’s Empowerment and Cultural Expo. The event is designed to “help expand the inclusive community of women empowered with sustainable approaches toward relationship building, resource management, wealth building, and the development of a compelling persona.”
According to IndigoLife these essential elements are used to encourage the practice of living IndigoLife — the quality of life that results from positive character and leads to prosperity and good will.
The event will be held May 5-7 with a variety of events and sessions lasting throughout the three days.
Each day will kick off with breakfast at 8 a.m. Different sessions and activities will take place on each day of the Expo including Breakout Sessions that will be divided into five tracks during the event; Track one: Women as Community Builders, Track two: Women and Their Image/Persona, Track three: Women and Business, Track four: Women and Wealth, and Track five: Women and Health.
On Friday night a networking reception will be held at 6:30 p.m. . A special Fashion Show and Dinner “Crisp the Runway: Putting on the Fritz” will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday night at the Fritz Farm. There will also be a Vendor Expo and live entertainment at this event.
The event will culminate on Saturday evening with the IndigoLife Gala beginning at 6:00 p.m. There will be several special guests honored during the Gala. Shelton Felton will be honored as the first African American Head Football Coach at Crisp County High School. Dr. Matthew Whitest will be honored for his acquisition of the historical A.S. Clark School and for the work he is doing there.
The Valorette Civic and Social Club will be honored for 50 years of civic engagement and cultural uplift. Marcus Payne, will be awarded for his leadership in fitness and overall health and wellness through his ownership of Impact Sports and Fitness. Long-time Cordele City Commissioner A.J. Rivers, who retired after over 40 decades of service will be honored as the first African American to ever be elected to serve on the commission in Cordele. Arthur Parker, owner of J.W. Williams Funeral Home will be honored for his leadership role as a successful business owner and major employer.
Conference highlights will include dynamic speakers, interactive breakout sessions, a business expo, vendor lane shopping, southern socials, neo-southern cuisines, live entertainment, and an IndigoLife Swag Bag.
